HEX to Binary
Converting hexadecimal numbers to their binary equivalents is an important task for computers, as computers are only able to process data using the binary numbering system. The binary number system consists of only two digits (0 and 1), while the hexadecimal system uses 16 digits, which includes the numbers from 0 to 9 and the letters A, B, C, D, E, and F. In order to convert hexadecimal numbers to their binary equivalents, we first have to convert the hexadecimal value to decimal, and then we can convert it to binary.
For example, the hexadecimal number A116 is equivalent to the binary number 10100001116. Here, the first step is to convert the hexadecimal value of A116 to its decimal representation – 16610. Then, we can convert 16610 to binary by dividing it by 2, and writing the remainder in reverse order. Using the remainder method, the binary equivalent of 16610 is 10100001116.
The process of converting hexadecimal numbers to binary is a two-step process. It requires that the values of hexadecimal numbers be converted to decimal first, and then the decimal number is converted to binary. This process of conversion from hexadecimal to binary is an inherent part of the computer programming process.
