Volumetric Flow Rate Converter

Volumetric flow rate

The volumetric flow rate, also known as the volume flow rate or rate of fluid flow, is the amount of fluid that moves through a specific volume per unit of time, such as cubic metres per second (m3/s) in standard SI units or feet per second (ft3/s). Usually, the letter Q is used to denote it. Volumetric flux, denoted by the symbol q and measured in [m3/(m2s)], should not be confused with volumetric flow rate. The volumetric flow rate is obtained by integrating a flux across a certain region. Viscosity is also related to volumetric flow rate.

Cubic meter/second is the SI-derived unit for flow rates that are dependent on volume.

Differential pressure, magnetic, thermal, turbine, ultrasonic, and vortex flow metre technologies all measure flow rate as a function of fluid velocity.

Using the equation below, you can determine the volumetric flow rate:

volumetric flow rate (Q) is equal to the cross-sectional area times the flow velocity (V) (A)

Where,

The volumetric flow rate, Q, is measured in m3/s.

V represents the flow speed in m/s.

The cross-sectional area, measured in mm2, is A.

User Manual

The volumetric flow rate (V/t) of a gas or liquid will be converted to the equivalent value in various units using this converter and conversion scale, which will also display a set of associated conversion values.

  • In the input box, enter the volume flow rate value to be converted.
  • Choose the flow rate measurement unit, from which to be converted into another appropriate  units from option boxes.
  • Click on Convert.
